Best of all, there are no batteries required, simply plug it in to a wall outlet, and you’re set to go.

First of all, this is not your typical baby swing. The 4Moms team actually put some serious research into this, using motion sensors to measure movements of real Mom’s and Dad’s. As for the reviews, it’s about 50/50. Half of the reviewers gave the Mamaroo 4 to 5 stars, out of 5, and stated that it was “Genius”, while the other half complained that it didn’t move fast enough, or that it was too loud. However, most of the 3 star reviews came from people that had purchased the older 2010 model. Many of those problems, such as pain-in-the-butt buckles, and loudness were fixed with the newer 2011 model .

The 4Moms MamaRoo is phenomenal! It will replace not only equally expensive baby swings, but it takes up so little space, and is so lightweight that it can be used as a portable bouncer, and even a booster to feed your baby. I sit in front of it on the floor and give my son his bottle (he only has an occasional bottle, so this may not work if you bottle feed every few hours). You can toss the cover in the wash if you get anything on it- it comes off with two zips and a few snaps. Much easier than threaded elastic bands like the Fisher Price model swings.
The Mamaroo speakers sound great playing any kind of music through your iPod. There are so many settings for speeds and movements- more than just swinging back and forth. Who needs to waste gas driving your baby around the block to sleep when you can plug this into the wall and press play! It took about 3 days to “train” my son on it, getting him used to this as opposed to his baby swing. I would put him in the Mamaroo only after he fell asleep, and gradually, as he was used to it, he’d happily sit in it and kick and giggle. At 5 months, he still LOVES it, and it gives me a little time to get things done after floor time, while he’s still awake and not hungry, he is happy to sit in there and watch me do my chores.
And 4Moms company has phenomenal customer service! There is an Insider program on their website where you can earn discounts on their products, and even test their stuff! I am in NO WAY affiliated with them- I just had a customer service issue resolved by one of their customer service agents, and am spreading the word as my appreciation for great customer support!
Buy this with full confidence! =) The Mamaroo is amazing, and the company is top notch!!!!
No more sleepless nights.,October 14, 2010

Our 3 month old daughter has reflux and needs to sleep in a sitting up position. We had tried bouncy seats and other swings then came across the Mamaroo. We were a bit cramped for space so the chair is ideal due to its small footprint. On our pediatrician’s recommendation we strapped her in thinking it would be just another sleepless night for us again. 8 hours later both of us had sleep and were less irritable and our daughter was delightfully happy and not cranky in the morning. I did find the fabric a bit stiffer than the softer swings. I ended up putting a JJ Cole Bundle Me over the Mamaroo so our daughter wouldn’t kick off a blanket in the middle of the night.
Since having the Mamaroo our daughter has been gaining weight on a steady basis. Both of us sleep and it’s quiet enough to have next to the bed. Considering that we let it run for 6+ hours at a time it seems to be reliable. I like the smooth motion and right after we got the Mamaroo assembled (which was easy) our daughter fell asleep 2 minutes after we put her in it.
