Bright Starts Ingenuity Vs. Comfort & Harmony – Portable Baby Swings

If you’re having a hard time deciding between the Bright Starts Ingenuity and the Bright Starts Comfort & Harmony Portable Swings, there’s good reason. They are very similar and offer many of the same features, however, there are a few key differences that may help you decide.

Similarities:

Bright Starts Ingenuity Portable Swing

First of all, let’s take a look at the similarities. Both the Bright Starts Ingenuity and the Comfort & Harmony Swings offer 6 swing speeds, 6 melodies, and a swing timer with three settings ranging from 15 to 45 minutes. Both also offer over-sized seats with 2 position recline, safety harness’s, removable head support, cushioned foot pillows, and both seat pads are removable and washable. Also, both the Bright Starts Ingenuity and the Bright Starts Comfort & Harmony also require 4 C batteries, and will hold from 6 to 25 pounds. Both also fold flat for storage or traveling, and they come with removable toy bars.

Differences:

These two portable baby swings are basically identical, except for a couple of things. One is that the Bright Starts Ingenuity offers TrueSpeed technology which means that regardless of how heavy or light your baby is, the speed settings will always maintain the correct swing speed.  Also, the Ingenuity comes with infant side supports. The only other difference is price. The Bright Starts Comfort & Harmony Portable Swing lists for $59.99, whereas the Bright Starts Ingenuity lists for $64.99.

When it comes to reviews, the Bright Starts Comfort & Harmony has more, but keep in mind that the Bright Starts Ingenuity Collection is new to the market. Both had about the same percentage of satisfied customers. There were a few complaints for both, the most common was the fact that the music automatically shuts off after 25 minutes, and you have to keep turning it back on.¬† Also, a few of the reviewers for the Bright Starts Comfort & Harmony Swing stated that after 1 hour, even if you don’t set the timer, the swing automatically shuts off. Now I didn’t find any complaints of this for the Bright Starts Ingenuity, so maybe that’s something they’ve improved.

Conclusion:

Well, if it was me, I’d pay the extra $5.00 for the Bright Starts Ingenuity Portable Swing because you get the TrueSpeed technology, and the infant side supports. But, if you can find the Bright Starts Comfort & Harmony on sale for quite a bit less, I’d go that route instead.

Currently at Amazon, the Bright Starts Comfort & Harmony Portable Swing is on sale for $47.00, and the Bright Starts Ingenuity Portable Swing is on sale for $58.99.

Fisher Price Infant-To-Toddler Rocker Vs Space Saver Swing

Fisher Price Ocean Wonders Space Saver Swing
Fisher Price Space Saver Swing @ Amazon

If you’re looking for a Baby Swing that is small and portable, you may be considering the Fisher Price Space Saver Swing. I would like to also suggest the Fisher Price Infant-To-Toddler Rocker, which is not exactly a baby swing, but I do believe that it is just as good as a baby swing, if not better. Let’s compare these two baby swing/seats side by side, and see what they have to offer.

Similarities:

The reason I chose to compare these two fisher price swing/seats is because both the space saver swing and the infant-to-toddler rocker are small, and extremely portable. So if you’re looking for something that you can easy throw in the car and take to Grandma’s house, both of these would definitely. Both the Infant-To-Toddler Rocker and the space saver swing offer stationary seats that lock into place, as well as calming vibrations. Both also offer 2 position reclines, deep seats with safety restraints, and hanging toys. Both the Fisher Price Infant-To-Toddler Rocker and the Space Saver Swing offer a removable, washable seat pad, and require batteries.

Differences:

Fisher Price Infant-To-Toddler Rocker

First things first, the Fisher Price Infant-To-Toddler Rocker only rocks, it does not swing. It is not powered by a motor, you must gently rock it yourself. The batteries it requires are for the calming vibrations. The Fisher Price Space Saver Swing is completely battery operated, swings on its own, and offers 5 swing speeds, along with 7 songs. So now you might be asking yourself, why would anyone get the manual rocker over the automatic swing? Well, the Space Saver Swing can only be used up to 25 pounds, whereas the Fisher Price Infant-To-Toddler Rocker is designed to be used all the way up to 40 pounds. You see, the seat back grows and adjusts with your child, offering 3 infant stages, and 1 toddler stage. Through the infant stages, the toy bar and toys detach, and then can be reattached in other places to give your little one a more hands on experience. As Baby grows the seat adjusts more and more upright, until finally, in the toddler stage, your little one can use the seat as their own personal rocker, and rock themselves.

Price:

The Fisher Price Infant-To-Toddler Rocker normally lists for $42.99, whereas the Space Saver Swing regularly lists for $74.99. However, currently on Amazon, both are on sale. The Infant-To-Toddler Rocker is currently listed for $35.99, and the Fisher Price Space Saver Swing is listed for $64.99. Both are great deals!

Reviews:

As far as reviews go, the Fisher Price Infant-To-Toddler Rocker was definitely the most popular, with 460 out of 549 reviewers rating it 4 to 5 stars, with 5 being the max. In other words, 84% of the reviewers were extremely satisfied. The Fisher Price Space Saver Swing did pretty good, although not near as popular as the rocker, with 32 out of 42 reviewers rating it 4 to 5 stars.
