Product Description:

The Bright Starts Ingenuity Swing is an energy efficient, multi-directional baby swing that offers TrueSpeed Technology. So what does that mean? By only powering on when the seat swings forward and then powering off when the seat swings backward, the Bright Starts Ingenuity Swing will run on one set of batteries for over one year! This Bright Starts Swing also offers TrueSpeed Technology, which means that regardless of the size and weight of your baby it will maintain the same swing speed. Simply choose one of the 6 swing speeds, and the Bright Starts Ingenuity will automatically recognize your baby’s weight and maintain the speed. You also have the option of setting a swing timer with 3 settings, 30, 45, or 60 minutes. Also, the Bright Starts Ingenuity seat rotates 180 degrees and offers both the traditional head-to-toe swing motion as well as the side-to-side cradle motion.

Did I mention how quiet it is? It’s whisper-quiet, and it also offers two recline positions, as well as removable cushioned head support. My Review:

Bright Starts Ingenuity Cradle Swing, Bella Vista
Bright Starts Ingenuity Cradle Swing, Bella Vista

As far as reviews go, the Bright Starts Ingenuity Swing did pretty good. The most loved features were the battery savings/energy efficiency, the fact that it’s whisper-quiet, the swing timer, and the gently swing speeds. In fact, one reviewer claimed that the silence was deafening. Another reviewer stated that the Ingenuity’s swing timer was a life saver, aka sleep saver. Aside from a couple problematic swings that stopped working and were replaced, the only complaints I found were that it has a very wide base, and takes up quite a bit of space. Also, several reviewers complained that the Ingenuity’s toy mobile was useless because it does not move on its own.  Aside from that, most seemed pretty satisfied with the Bright Starts Ingenuity Swing. A couple reviewers even stated that they thought this was “The BEST Baby Swing ever made”, and that they “could not live without it”. See for yourself what reviewers had to say in the Customer Feedback section below, or check out the comparison reviews listed at the bottom of this page.

The Good
  • Whisper-quiet
  • TrueSpeed Technology recognized Baby’s weight and maintains speed
  • Battery Life – last for over a year
  • Swing timer with 3 settings
  • 6 Gently Swing Speeds
The Bad
  • Wide base takes up a lot of space
  • Toy Mobile does not move on it’s own
  • 5-point harness does not work when Baby is swaddled – most swings are designed the same way

Customer Feedback:

Excellent Swing! – April 26, 2011

By reading teacher (Phoenix, AZ USA)

We initially purchased another swing before our son arrived– we wanted something compact and easily moved– but we realized quickly that those features are overrated in a swing for home use. True, the Bright Starts Ingenuity Swing DOES take up a lot of space– it has a large footprint– but it works so well, it is worth it!

Why we love it:
*Easy to assemble
*Very well-constructed and sturdy
*Neutral and easy to clean fabric
*Bolster supports baby’s head well and cradles baby’s sides so he feels secure
*Rocking motion is smooth and speed is excellent
*Lullabies and nature sounds are very soothing and help keep baby asleep
*Is very energy efficient– we use it often and have had it for two months without a battery change
*Five point harness is very secure while still being comfortable for baby

The only drawback (and it is minor) is that the shoulder straps for the safety harness are a bit difficult to adjust. They can only be loosened or tightened from the back of the seat, which is low enough that it requires you to sit or lay on the floor to adjust the straps.

AWESOME SWING – November 24, 2011

By C. Bauman,
I got this swing when my colicy 2 month old baby would not sleep. My daughter is now 16 months and 23 lbs and still loves this swing. She fits in great, the straps are even a little loose, and it still swings as long as the batteries are not dead. I have only replaced the batteries 3 times in 13 months. I think that is pretty good. I would suggest this swing to anyone!!

The Best Fisher Price Cradle Swing: My Little Lamb Vs. My Little Snugabunny

Fisher-Price My Little Snugabunny Cradle 'n Swing
Fisher-Price My Little Snugabunny Cradle 'n Swing @ Amazon.com $126.97

Finding the best Cradle Swing can be a tough job. There are so many to choose from, and they’re so much alike, it’s hard to know what’s best. If you’ve narrowed it down to a Fisher Price Cradle Swing, then you’re doing pretty good, however if you’ve narrowed it down to either the “My Little Lamb” cradle swing, or the “My Little Snugabunny” cradle swing, you’re doing great! These two Fisher Price Cradle Swings have a lot in common, so a decision between the two can be tough, however there are a few key differences that will help you decide.

Let’s take a look at what they have in common first. For example, both the Fisher Price My Little Lamb, and Snugabunny offer 3 seat positions, and 2 swinging motions (head-to-toe & side-to-side), as well as 6 speeds and volume control. Also included with both Fisher Price Swings, a 2 position seat recline, safety restraint, and plush seats with removable, washable seat pads. Both of these cradle swings also fold up easily for storage, and have a weight limit of 25 pounds. Hanging mobiles are also included with both models, and they cost about the same, around $130.00.

Fisher Price My Little Lamb Cradle and Swing
Fisher Price My Little Lamb Cradle and Swing @ Amazon.com $124.99

Now let’s take a look at the differences. First of all, the My Little Snugabunny Swing offers an AC adapter for a plug-in option, whereas the My Little Lamb Swing requires 4 D batteries. The Snugabunny also has removable side support for infants, which is a nice plus. Also, reviewers love it! 63 out of 71 reviewers rated it 4 to 5 stars, with 5 being the max. Now it may seem that the Snugabunny is the way to go, however, the Fisher Price My Little Lamb Swing has a few cards up its sleeve. For instance, the My Little Lamb Swing offers more music options, 10 tunes and 3 nature sounds. Whereas the Snugabunny only offers 8 tunes and 2 nature sounds. Also, the My Little Lamb offers a removable snack tray and toy bead bar.

In conclusion, both of these Fisher Price Cradle Swings are great buys. However, if you’d rather have the AC adapter option and removable side infant support, the Fisher Price My Little Snugabunny Cradle and Swing is best. But, if you’d rather have a few more tunes, and a snack tray with a toy bar, the Fisher Price My Little Lamb Cradle Swing is perfect.  Personally, I would rather have the AC adapter more than anything. Batteries can get sooooo expensive!
