Best Cradle Swing – Snugabunny Swing or Papasan Swing

With so many options available, finding the best cradle swing is extremely difficult. I looked at a number of different things, including features, prices, and customer feedback. What I found was that two cradle swings is better than one. In other words, I couldn’t decide between the Fisher Price My Little Snugabunny Cradle Swing and the Fisher Price Papasan Cradle Swing, so I’ve decided to list them both. Let me explain why I think these two are the best cradle swings.

Fisher Price My Little Snugabunny Cradle Swing
Fisher Price My Little Snugabunny Cradle Swing

First of all, let’s take a look at the Fisher Price My Little Snugabunny Cradle Swing. This one had the highest customer satisfaction percentage. With 114 out of 131 reviewers rating it 4 to 5 stars, with 5 being the max. In other words, 87% were extremely satisfied. What I like most about the Snugabunny Cradle Swing is the nest like appearance. The seat is deep with extra soft fill, and it’s lined with micro fiber for superior comfort. It comes with removable infant side supports, runs on both batteries and an AC adapter, and offers a cute little motorized over-head mobile with hanging birdies and a dome mirror. All too often you get a great swing with a crappy mobile, and in this case, the mobile is perfect. The Snugabunny Swing also offers  2 reclining seat positions, 6 speeds, 8 melodies, and 2 nature sounds. Your little one can swing either side-to-side or head-to-toe. The Snugabunny Swing is also affordable, and it’s currently listed on Amazon for $126.98, that’s 23% off and a good deal.

Fisher Price Papasan Cradle Swing
Fisher Price Papasan Cradle Swing

My other pick for best cradle swing is the Fisher Price Papasan Cradle Swing. This one had the most customer reviews, so it seems to be the best selling. With 1190 reviewers out of 1452 rating it 4 to 5 stars, that’s 82% pure customer satisfaction. Let me quickly explain that anything in the 80’s percentage wise is really, really good. You very rarely see a baby swing with a higher percentage than 90%, that just goes to show that you can’t please everybody, and every baby is different. Some like to swing fast, others slow.  So when I say, 82% customer satisfaction, that means that 82% of the reviewers were extremely satisfied. Okay, let’s move on and examine the Papasan Cradle Swing. First of all, my absolute favorite feature is the over-head mobile. It’s a light show! The mobile rotates around with three hanging toys, and it has lights that actually reflect off the canopy that surrounds your little one. My daughter would have loved this! The Papasan Cradle Swing also runs on batteries or with an AC adapter. It offers a removable tray with a toy bead bar to further entertain your little one, plus it also offers 2 reclining positions. Baby can swing either head-to-toe, or side-to-side, and listen to 16 different melodies, both daytime and nighttime melodies.  The Papasan Cradle Swing also offers 6 speeds, and folds for storage. It’s not the least expensive of cradle swings, but I still think it’s priced really well for all that you get. It’s currently listed at Amazon for $149.99.

Reviews and Customer Feedback:

As far as reviews go, the Fisher Price Snugabunny Swing did excellent! 232 out of 278 reviewers gave it 4 to 5 stars (out of 5). The only real complaint I found was that the lowest speed still seemed a little fast for newborns. Reviewers also commented that once the baby was about 1 month, the speed problem wasn’t an issue. Also, there were a couple defective swings with bad motors, but all in all, 90% of the customers were extremely satisfied.  Check out customer feedback below.

Soft and Soothing, July 17, 2011

By Betsey,

I bought the Fisher Price Snugabunny Swing for my new grandaughter, and she loves it. She naps in it daily (she is almost three months). The materials are VERY soft, washable and make a little nest for her. The sounds are great to lull her to sleep, as is the overhead mirror. So far she has used the side to side motion only. I wish the swing I had for her dad had been like this one!

Couldn’t live without, July 13, 2011

By Heather S, (MN)

I got the Fisher Price Snugabunny Swing shortly before I gave birth because we had nothing for him to swing in. I was amazed at how easily it went together, I was in my 3rd trimester and still able to get the whole thing together in about 30 minutes and the instructions were really easy. The first week we had the baby home we used the lowest setting because it seemed to swing fast, but now he is 3 months and we put it up to the highest setting. The Snugabunny Swing overall seems very sturdy and I like that you can easily take the fabric off to wash it in case of accidents. I would recommend this swing to anyone who wants a few moments of peace (the only reason I can write this review is because my son is currently swinging away, fast asleep).
