When it comes to finding the best baby swing for your little one, sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming with all of the options available. If you just happen to be stuck between the 4Moms Mamaroo and the Graco Sweet Peace Newborn Soother, I might be able to help you decide.
First of all, let’s take a look at some of the similarities. Both of these baby swings are designed to mimic a Mothers natural movements to sooth and calm a newborn. Both offer reclining seats and soothing tunes. Both the Mamaroo and the Graco Sweet Peace have safety restraints to keep your little one secure, and have a maximum weight limit of 25 pounds. Both also offer an MP3/Ipod hook-up, AC adapters to plug into the wall, and the seat pads are removable and washable.
As for the differences, the Mamaroo offers a removable toy mobile with three toy balls, whereas the Graco Sweet Peace offers an adjustable canopy with hanging toys and a toy bar with a mirror. Also, the Mamaroo offers 5 unique motions such as, car ride, kangaroo, tree swing, rock-a-bye, and ocean wave, as well as 5 different speeds. The Graco Sweet Peace offers 4 different cradling swing positions and 6 speeds that change the motion. The Mamaroo comes with 5 nature sounds, and the option to hook up your MP3 player, whereas the Graco Sweet Peace comes with 15 songs and sounds, including low frequency sounds such as a mothers heart beat, nature sounds, quality music, and also has the option of MP3 player hook-up.
Another nice feature that the Graco Sweet Peace offers is a removable seat, which can then be used as a little rocker with 2 speeds of vibrations, much like a car seat. Speaking of car seats, the Graco Sweet Peace tower also allows for car seat hook-ups, in other words, if you’ve just returned home and your little one is fast asleep in his/her Graco car seat, you can attach the car seat to the tower and it functions just like the seat.
As far as reviews go, the Graco Sweet Peace seemed to have better reviews, with 124 out of 163 reviewers rating it 4 to 5 stars, most seemed to love their newborn soother. The Mamaroo’s reviews were not quite as good. With only 60% of the reviewers rating it 4 to 5 stars. As for prices, the 4Mom’s Mamaroo is on sale at Amazon for $229.99 in Orange, and the Graco Sweet Peace is on sale at for $164.70.
In conclusion, the 4Moms Mamaroo offers more unique motions, however it does cost more. The Graco Sweet Peace is cheaper but only offers mainly cradle motions, but with different seating positions, as well as more music options including white noise, and the vibrating option. Personally, I like the Graco Sweet Peace Newborn Soother. It’s better priced, better reviewed, and offers more soothing options.
